The Voluntary Activities for Social and Human Advancement Foundation (VASHA Foundation) inaugurated the Training for Skill Development (TSD) program on September 25 at Munsipara area in Bandar Police Station in Chittagong. Chief Executive Parimal Kanti Pal presided over the inaugural function.
In his speech, Parimal Kanti Paul said that in the current era of competition, there is no alternative but to develop oneself as an expert. Therefore, to create self-employment and poverty alleviation, VASHA Foundation has organized various handicraft training programs for the beneficiaries. The organization is working towards the goal of training 9600 disadvantaged women in Chittagong city on sewing, embroidery, block batik and handicraft work. The training is already underway in Pahartali, Sitakunda, Khulsi, Kumira and Halishahar areas of Chittagong. The Bondor area has been inaugurated today.
Training equipment was distributed among the members for training at the inauguration ceremony. It may be mentioned that VASHA Foundation has been conducting various development activities in different parts of Chittagong since 2005. Stakeholders believe that this training will help the beneficiary women to become self-reliant in the Bondor area.
Md. Habibullah, Raju Chowdhury, Bijoy Paul, Rezaul Karim, Helal Uddin, Jannatul Ferdous, Md. Manik, Ruby, Bobby, Maria, Tania, Rashida among others spoke on the occasion.
